While I continue to keep up with new releases from my favorite musicians of the eighties and nineties, hip-hop has become a genre that particularly resonates with me. I am drawn to the stories of the pioneers of old school hip-hop in the United States, and how they have highlighted both historical and contemporary social issues through their music.
I am equally interested in German rap, and its deep-rooted connection to the stories and experiences of labour migrants and their descendants in Europe.
